Is that so? Honestly, we could use all the help we can get! Verens is still being flooded with injustice that needs to be weeded out. Any member of the Enforcers will be briefed on current events, of course.
[Voice]
What's your policy on holding certain members in reserve? I think you'll find what I am combined with my talents to be of great use to you in certain circumstances, but a potential detriment in others.
[Voice]
Well... Usually our reserve members are in the combat division. They get called to arms during times of overwhelming crisis. [Like, say, rampant Arehtei attacks.]
What sort of talents do you have, exactly?
[Voice]
Even when dealing with those who can, I know a few things about stealth and evasion. If you're ever in need of someone to handle investigations in dangerous situations without being caught, you could call on me.
[Voice]
Wow, really?! That sounds amazing! It's just what we'd need next time we find another bandit hideout! You could scope the place out for us!
[Voice]
Though no doubt you could see where what I am could also cause some issues... Pairing me with anyone who can't see me during combat situations could be a problem. I also wouldn't be of much use in negotiations or in representing the Enforcers.
[One wouldn't think that talking down on themselves would be good in a situation like this, but Dezel is too practical to do otherwise. He wants this man to be fully aware of the pros and cons, as well as to maintain some control over how he's utilized. He's not a gung-ho justice freak, anyway. Mostly he just wants a foot in the door so he can get access to Enforcer information.]
[Voice]
But... You said there's some Otherworlders who can see you, right? Provided they have enough spiritual... hocus pocus? Do you know if any of them are in the Enforcers?
[Voice]
There may be others already part of the force who can see me, but who I've yet to make contact with. Or those I've met, but don't yet associate with the Enforcers.
Any non-human Enforcers should also be able to see and hear me.
[Voice]
Is that so...? Well, if there's ever a need for you to work in a team, we could always just partner you up with someone who can see you. There probably are more of them within the Enforcers.
[Voice]
[That isn't to say he'll like it, but being willing to deal with it for the sake of need is another matter entirely. The last five years of his life have taught him a fair amount on that, after all.]
That said, there's just one other thing you should probably be aware of before I attempt to apply officially...
[Voice]
Oh, really? What would that be?
[Voice]
That I'm blind.
This is information I'm disclosing as a courtesy and as a matter of trust. It doesn't typically affect my ability to function on a daily basis and doesn't hinder me in combat, to the point where people who can see me can't tell that I'm sightless. However, I don't want this getting back to you via a third party and for it to appear that my blindness is something I've tried to actively hide from you.
[Voice]
Oh! No, that's...- Don't worry about something like that! If it doesn't hinder you during your duties at all, it wasn't necessary to report. That's not the same as actively hiding something, I think... [Err.]
But... I'm glad you told me.
[Voice]
As I said, it's out of fairness so you know exactly what you're getting with me.
[Well, on a physical level, anyway. Certain aspects of his history Dezel will be keeping to himself.]
With that out of the way, is there anything else in general you'd need to know? Or anything else I need to know?
[Voice]
Aah, sorry...! Anyway, the paperwork's in my office. I'd ask you to stop by there sometime, but... [Is there even a point to having a face-to-face interview?]
[Voice]
[Voice]
Oh! That makes sense! In that case, feel free to stop by my office whenever you have the time! Just... Make sure to knock first, okay?
[Voice]
As for when I have time, expect me during the afternoon tomorrow.
[Voice] 1/2
[Voice] 2/2
I-I mean... Err. You know what I mean.
